Merry Christmas to my Sweet Angels

Anja & Quin -

It has been over a year since I've last written you. How time flies. Quinny, you are a year older! 4 years old…how did that happen?? And Anja, you are 6 years old and in first grade. The years keep wearing on and change has come to our family in the form of a big, new, beautiful home, which we have settled nicely into since May. It is a different kind of life in a big house. Drafty, spacious, open, resonant. The neighborhood is social, busy and the people that live here, wonderful. But we all still feel a little tinge when we pass the "old house" as we call it. We miss the coziness and solitude. But this new chapter for our family is a positive one.

As I write this, we're sitting by the fire. Quin, you are quietly snoozing on the couch and Anja, you are playing with Legos, seeing how much giggling and noise you can get away with while your brother sleeps. I keep giving you the eye and you just give me a mischievous, albeit toothless grin. We've all been fighting this nasty cold and so Quin, being at his worse today, will stay home with me and Daddy while you, Anja, go see Frozen in the movie theatre with Mana and Papa. We'll see how the sibling separation goes as you two are conjoined at the hip when you're not arguing.

I have a bit of a headache from our grown up festivities last night and Daddy is upstairs sleeping it off. Ha! He was in a celebratory mood last night so he took his liberties in living it up. Not sure when he'll emerge from the master suite.

I feel a deep sense of gratitude and blessing as our family continues to gel and our relationships get stronger all the time. Funny we are all just gliding along in the universe getting to know each other. Who knows what the future will bring?

All I know is I have such high hopes for you both and know you will continue to grow and flourish in this little town.

Can't wait to see your dreams come true again this holiday season!

Love,
Mommy
